Great resume and interview advice! From start to finish this book [INTERVIEW with DESIRE and GET HIRED!] is laid out in a clear and organized fashion. The writing style makes it feel conversational while taking the reader step by important step through the interview process. My son will be interviewing soon for law internships, I’m giving him this book to read as he hasn’t yet experienced many interviews so he’s starting at square one, however, because this book is contemporary, it’s strategy and advice will be what I also refer to the next time I change jobs. I’m excited to have this great tool for my son’s start in the “real” world!

This book is an incredible tool to use to prepare yourself and get the right perspective before your next interview. The length of the audio book is roughly 3 hours long – very reasonable length to prepare and cover all the necessary bases prior to your interview.

Denise and Randy Wilkerson have hit a literal “Homerun” with this amazing book called “Hire with Fire!” Don’t let the size of the book fool you, it is jam packed with golden nuggets that anyone in Management, Recruiting and Hiring responsibilities will be enriched by. The way I learn, teach and train is by story telling and analogies. This book held me captive as the authors used the dating model analogy to bring to life hiring techniques that anyone can relate to. Once I started reading, I found it hard to put the book down! Useful, thought-provoking, and fun!
As someone who has often been on both sides of the hiring managers desk–perhaps too often–I wasn’t sure which perspective would stand out to me. Thanks to the focus on relationship building, and the brilliant use of a “dating” relationship as an analogy. I was sufficiently entertained to let go of my rather prejudicial mode of analysis! Our mission is to create better communication between the interviewer and interviewee during the interview process. And in turn, employers can hire the right person for the job, and job seekers can make the right career moves and get the job of their dreams!
Since 1997, we have used a recruiting and hiring method called, Hire with Fire. It evolved from years of professional practice and our observations of the way people communicate during the hiring process. Through our work, we have found that a large percentage of hiring managers often rely on their gut reaction alone to select candidates, without the use of a standardize hiring method. Hire with Fire offers managers and leaders within an organization a easy-to-use four-step method to help with question development, interviewing techniques, and the selection process.
As recruiters, we are often the go-between/mediator between the interviewer and interviewee. Following an interview, we listen to feedback from the manager and the candidate. Doing this for over two decades has led us to a deeper understanding of what variables can impact the interviewer’s hiring decision.
